Kaycie & Tyler are super cute high school sweethearts who’s inquiry landed in my inbox recently. They are both Florida natives who love travel, dogs and most importantly each-other. After booking their wedding with me (yay!), we started to discuss locations for their engagement shoot. They loved the idea of a state park and that’s when I suggested Philippe Park. This park is one of my favorites in the Tampa Bay area due to it’s varying looks around the park, providing a ton of opportunity for unique photos! From tons of beautiful stones, gorgeous views of the water and tree lined pathways, Philippe Park never disappoints. When Kaycie mentioned the couple took their prom photos there 7 years ago, I just knew this would be the spot for the engagement photos. What a way to bring their relationship full circle!
The couple wanted to include their fur babies in a few of the photos. So, Kaycie and Tyler and their “assistant” aka dog whisperer aka one of Kaycie’s bridesmaids met me at the Philippe Park towards golden hour (the best time of day for photos). Bringing a friend to help out with the dogs is highly recommended if you are wanting to include them in your engagement shoot, as they can keep them under control when they are not in photos and help focus them when they are.
If you’ve read my blog posts before, you know I absolutely love engagement shoots since they allow me to get to know the couple even more while giving them a sneak peek of the experience they’ll have with me on their wedding day. Not to mention, beautiful images to hang on their walls, use for save- the-dates and of course to post to the ‘gram! Check out some of my favorite images from the session below!
