I had the pleasure of photographing Courtney and Matthew’s Nova 535 wedding recently and if you are looking for a wedding venue that allows you to custom create the vibe you are looking for, look no further than Nova 535. From their beautifully lit bamboo courtyard for a ceremony to their reception space with beautiful hardwood and brick walls from the original 1920 build, this venue is sure to impress!
The day started off at a hotel fairly close to the Nova 535 venue where the bride, groom and wedding party got ready. From there, we went down to North Straub Park for the first look and wedding party portraits. Then, it was time to head to Nova 535 for the ceremony and reception. The ceremony took place in that bamboo courtyard (stunning), where we also took some awesome couple portraits afterwards. We didn’t have to look too far for some other portrait spots either, as there were some killer murals nearby that we took some photos in front of.
The entire day was super fun, but I think my favorite part was the fact that Matthew played guitar during their first dance. And it wasn’t just my favorite either–
“Throughout our entire relationship Matthew had always played the guitar for me, he is very musically inclined and I knew as soon as we started planning I wanted that to be apart of our day. He played his guitar during our first dance and we finished our dance with his guitar on his back. I will never forget it!”-Courtney McGilvary (the bride)
After all the formalities, it was time to party! Courtney & Matthew are a fun-loving couple with a super fun wedding party, which I think you’ll be able to see from their photos. Keep scrolling to check out some of the best photos from the day; the ones I believe really tell their story! Enjoy!
